Todd, Liz, and their four boys—Landon, Travis, Bradley, and Tanner—come to us from Layton, Utah, marking their 12th move in the last 15 years. They’ve lived in Oklahoma, California, Utah, and now Texas.
Todd and Liz grew up in the same Stake in Utah and went to the same High School but didn’t connect until years later at a fireside featuring Coach Kyle Whittingham (Head football coach at the University of Utah). That meeting led to marriage and they credit “Coach Whit” with bringing them together. Naturally, the family are die-hard Utah football fans. While attending an away game at USC, they were interrogated while checking into an East LA hotel for wearing Utah red—learning it was also a local gang color. They say it felt almost as threatening as wearing red in Provo on game day! Todd played football in high school while Liz played the flute in band. Todd went on to attend MTSU and now works in a supervisory role in the control tower at DFW.
Landon (12) loves sports, especially football and pickleball. Shy but loyal, he’s deeply responsible and hard worker, and always tries to do the right thing.
Travis (10, nearly 11) is brilliant at math, a true good Samaritan, always looking for ways to help someone who needs to be lifted. He’s both gentle and sharp-minded.
Bradley (6) is the life of the party—a dancer, singer, and jokester with a smile that lights up the room. He is both curious and bold. His mother says "he lives life out loud!"
Tanner (4) is happy, loves books, and learning. Strong, rowdy, and confident, he can hold his own with his older brothers.
The Ulrichs are excited about life in Texas—no snow shovels required! While Utah is a wonderful place, Todd and Liz have long felt their family’s true adventure lay outside of it. The boys are all on board for what lies ahead.
Liz says that their family has been recently influenced by the story of Christ and Peter stepping out of the boat—choosing faith over fear, trusting in God’s hand to guide them through career, and family life. It is that faith that has brought them to Texas on this new adventure.
Their hobbies? Football, football, and more football—oh, and boating. They own a boat and love being on the lake, disconnected from the internet but fully connected as a family. They’d love to share those adventures with anyone in the ward who’d like to join them.
We are delighted to welcome the Ulrich family to the Argyle Ward!
